Industry 4.0 is a collective term for technologies and concepts of value chain organization which brings together Cyber-Physical Systems, the Internet of Things, the Industrial Internet of Things, and the Internet of Services. These systems allow intelligent products, processes, and services to communicate with each other and with people in real time over a global network. This challenges the way we educate engineers and the way we manage companies. The Global Joint Conference on Industrial Engineering and Its Application Areas (GJCIE) 2017 will shed light on the role of industrial engineering in this endeavor.

The GJCIE 2017 is composed of three co-located conferences: the 2nd Global Conference on Industrial Engineering (GCIE), the 4th Global Conference on Engineering and Technology Management (GCETM), and the 3rd Global Conference on Healthcare Systems Engineering and Management (GCHSEM). The GGJCIE 2017 will be an internationally renowned forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences, and challenges in the field of industrial engineering. It will bring together experts from academia and industry to exchange the latest research results and trends, and their practical applications in the aforementioned areas of industrial engineering. This will be accomplished through the following three modes of communication: keynote presentations, parallel sessions, and poster sessions.

Vienna, the capital of Austria, is one of Europe's most fascinating cities with a rich history and various cultural attractions and reasonable living costs. The city lies in the east of Austria and is close to the borders of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Vienna is home to about 2 million people, and from 20 to 21 July 2017, will also be home to the GJCIE 2017.
